Randomness II
As Melissa mentioned in her previous post, my job hunt is finally coming to an end. I say "finally" as though I've been job hunting for a long time when, in truth, I've been looking just a few months.
In any event1, due to my impending first day of work and the corresponding loss of free time, I've decided that I should probably clear my "Blogger Blotter2" of some things that I've been meaning to blog about, but just haven't gotten around to. I once again blame my failure to get around to these things sooner on the cat. She's readily available and she can't defend herself; she is, in a nutshell, the perfect scapegoat.
The topic of today's randomness post: "Links I've Been Meaning to Share"
- Three Tarts: Food blogging at its finest.
- The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny: Cartoon violence set to music. I haven't enjoyed a cartoon music video this much since the Star Wars Galaxies "Boba the Fett" video came out.
Warning: this video does contain scenes of cartoon violence and gore. I would not recommend it for well... anyone really. But children certainly shouldn't be allowed to watch it. - PostSecret: The site is pretty self explanatory. From the site: "PostSecret is an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard."
This is another link whose content may not be appropriate for the kiddies. This one, however, I do recommend. It's a very interesting project and has won a great deal of renown both for its originality and the difference it's made in peoples' lives. - Kiltmen: Men of the world, unite in the fight against bifurcated garments!
-Dave
1It's been implied that I use this segue too much. Well poopoo on you! I like it!
2Also known as a battered sheet of paper that clutters up my desk upon which I jot notes until it gets too battered and has to be replaced by a fresh sheet.3
3This is what happens in theory. In actuality the paper gets shoveled under other papers and forgotten about until said other papers are eventually disposed of. At this time the "blotter" is suddenly remembered, returned to its position of honor on top of the pile and subsequently lost again. My current "blotter" dates back to around the turn of the century.
