Congrats to Megan and Ethan
I have finally managed to pull together some photos of Megan's wedding week, so here they are! If you would like to see the professional pictures, they're now available here (do check them out...I've only gathered what few photos I took and the family sent...they're are beautiful photos on the photographer's website.
So first up, just one or two shots from the Bachelorette party. Megan dressed up as a trophy wife, and enjoyed posing for the camera. Here we all are in a limo on our way to our evening entertainment. What happens at the Bachelorette party stays at the party, but I thought it would be nice to show a few photos of us having a good time. The next day we hosted a "Brunch at Tiffany's" wedding shower for Megan. The towel cake in the center of the table is my gift to Megan. The martini glasses are full of champagne and roses bath salts as favors. We served lots of little savories and pastries, along with Belinis (champagne and peach juice).Megan looked great in a hat she ordered from eBay, and a really cute little dress. Here, she's posing with her new Mother-in-law.You can't see her as well in this photo, but I thought it really showed off how well she had accessorized her outfit. The guests really got into the theme as well. I'm in the green dress with my back turned to the camera, my aunt Judy is to my right, the hostess Amy is in black with her back turned to the camera, and on the far right is my mom. Here are Megan and Ethan at the rehearsal dinner. We had the dinner at the Phantom Canyon in downtown Colorado Springs. The rehearsal was a bit of a challenge for those of use who weren't Catholic (there were LOTS of things to remember), but we all figured it out in the end. Get this: the seminarian who helped with the rehearsal recognized me, and it turns out we both spent our Junior year abroad in Paris (there were only 70 of us or so). He is originally from Virginia and has been assigned to a church in Colorado Springs. What a random coincidence! Here's Megan on her wedding day morning. First stop was the salon for us all to get our hair done.I LOVE the way Megan's hair turned out. She wore her veil right above the low chignon, and borrowed the tiara I wore at my wedding. Here she is coming down the aisle with dad. All brides are beautiful, but Megan was positively stunning! This is the only photo I have of myself at the wedding, so here I am in my matron of honor gown with my cousin Robbie. I'll have to buy a few of the photos from the photographer of me with Megan.Megan and Ethan made their grand entrance at the reception and did a beautiful choreographed rumba dance to "Sway with Me." It finished with a gorgeous dip. Nicely done Ethan! Here are Megan and Ethan together. It's one of the few shots I have that shows Megan's full wedding dress. Here they're cutting the cake. Megan went with a fall themed wedding, so her cake reflects that with leaves and yellow flowers on butter cream. Each tier was a different flavor (spice cake, almond cake, and chocolate cake.A few of the younger family members went out with Megan and Ethan for a post-reception party in downtown Colorado Springs. Megan wore a cute little sweater dress as her 'get-away' dress. Since it was so close to Halloween, there were lots of costumes roaming around. Here, Megan and Ethan pose with a group dressed up as the Reno 911 cops. What a great group costume!
So that is Megan's wedding! It was a beautiful event. The newlyweds have just returned from their honeymoon in Spain, and it sounds like they had a wonderful time. A big congrats to my baby sister on her wonderful new husband, and may you have many happy years together!
