New Toy!!!

As if I didn't have every kitchen gadget known to man, I have a new prize for my collection! Meet my new ice cream maker (thank you Mom!!):
Oooo. Shiny.

It's a White Mountain old fashion machine with an electric motor...I might be old school, but I'll be darned if I crank cream for a half an hour by hand. White Mountain, fittingly enough, is the creme de la creme of ice cream makers. Modern designs just don't seem to get it right - the ice cream comes out too icy or only make it to milkshake consistency.

In the picture, I'm making the first batch of the summer. Dave had a special request for peach ice cream, and since it's peach season it wasn't too hard to do. It was actually really good. Next up is Watermelon Sorbet (just need to find unflavored gelatin...) and then White Chocolate ice cream. Bring on the hot weather!!

Very nice. How big is it?

Hmm...I think it can make 2.5 quarts at a time. I'll have to double check the manual. The bucket is a pretty standard bucket size. Our sink is pretty big if that gives you an idea.
