Strange European Appliances: The Heated Towel Rack

Again, not so strange on its own, however, its environment lends it an air of oddity.

Okay, what’s the idea behind a heated towel rack? To dry the towels faster? Certainly not! The whole idea behind a heated towel rack is to have a nice warm towel so that you don’t freeze to death after getting out of the shower. Unfortunately, for some inexplicable reason we have a regular towel rack right next to the tub while the heated towel rack is all the way on the other side of the bathroom. This leaves the bather with two options:
  1. Move the towel from the heated towel rack and onto the regular towel rack before bathing, thus dooming him to a room temperature towel by the time he is ready to dry off.
  2. Leave the towel on the heated towel rack and risk certain death by slipping and falling on the tile floor.
I, however, have come up with a third solution. I’ve devised a series of pulleys across the ceiling of the bathroom running from the heated towel rack to the bathtub. The following diagram is a rough sketch of my device:

I’m confident that this device will win me acclaim across the globe from others who are suffering from Towel Rack Locality Issues (TRLI). If we can muster enough support behind the cause I’m confident that we can wipe out TRLI across the world within the next 20 years.
