Belgian Waffles!
I'm still in slight shock that I've managed to land such a great assignment, but I thought I'd share news that I know where I'm headed next!! It's not 100% firm yet, but unless something goes wrong I'll be headed to NATO headquarters in Brussels next summer. I still can't believe that I'm not headed someplace a little less cushy than Warsaw...after all, I did bid on some fairly exotic places.There are so many things I'm excited about!! Mussels and fries, chocolate, lace, speaking French, the job (which comes with travel opportunities), and of course...Brussels!! Plus, we can keep our little car!! Dave is slightly disgruntled because he wanted to get the chance to take language training...but once more we're being assigned without any opportunity for him to learn the language. I'm trying to fill his mind with images of Belgian Beer, Beligian waffles...
Anyway, we'll know more details in the spring once I'm officially assigned. We'll keep you all posted!

Congrats Melissa, that is great! After seeing your first bid list, it looked like you actually might be in one of the cities I find myself for work (primarily in Central and South America), which would have been cool. But Brussels sounds like it will be an amazing experience.
Hey John! Yeah - I was dissapointed about not getting a south america post (I really wanted to get my foot into the door in the region), but there's always next time! Until then...Brussels will be fabulous!
