More Than Meets the Eye

Imagine my sister's surprise when she discovered her new car is actually a robot in disguise:

She was kind enough to allow her new robot friend to chauffeur Melissa and me around while she was at camp in Indiana for a week.

Just before this picture was taken we had this car full of the most people it has ever (or probably ever will) hold.Everyone can rest easy. Melissa and I will protect the Earth from the Decepticons with the help of our new ally!

Dave and I have decided this WILL be our next car. If only it came in a four door model...

Nice job filming the car and editing Dave!

I realize how sad this question is, but, does that car have any trunk space?

Also, did she name him Optimus Prime?

Melissa named her Optimus Prime. I, however, refuse to bastardize his name in that manor. Optimus Prime is a freaking truck! Not some puny little sports car! Duh.

The car does have some trunk space... when the top is up. When you put the top down most of the trunk space is used to accommodate awesomeness. You do, however, have a very well defined compartment in which to store stuff.

For storage you also have the entire backseat, which as my cousins and aunt can attest, is mostly cosmetic.

Okay, having seen the movie yesterday, I'm really disappointed that the "theme" song I downloaded from the movie's website didn't appear anywhere in the movie. I suppose it's possible that I missed it or didn't stay long enough into the credits to hear it, but I'm skeptical.

On the upside, my joke about Jenn unknowingly buying a car that's really a Transformer takes on a whole new degree of funny now that I've seen the movie.
