...And Back Again
It's funny how life brings you full circle sometimes. For those of you who don't know, I've been sick for the last several months (I, being Melissa). I had been struggling to obtain the medical attention I needed but was trying my best to be treated locally in Belgium. After several months of limited progress, I finally decided it was time to come home and get better.
And so now I find myself back where my journey began...at Georgetown University. I'm receiving medical attention at the university hospital since mid week. I'm already doing much better now that I'm home, and seem to be getting better every day. Dave is still in Belgium working and taking care of Gidget, so if anyone happens to be in the DC area, please let me know because I would love to see you. I expect to be at Georgetown for about 30 days, and I hope that a few of you might be in the area. I'll give you more updates as I have them.

hey there, omar really sympathizes.
I'm sorry to hear that you're sick - I was just in DC until Jan 8, but A) didn't know you were around and B) was also sick, but just with a sinus cold. Matt and I will be in the Netherlands (the Hague) starting next week. When do you return to Bruxelles?
PS your cakes look fantastic! I have promised myself that if I stay in Berkeley next year I'm going to take a cake decorating class down the road.
That's awesome that you and Matt are in The Hague! I was originally scheduled to be there all this week, but with the uncertainty revolving around Melissa's health (and whether she was going home for treatment) I passed on the trip.
Melissa's return to Brussels depends entirely on her health. The last thing we want is for her to get "kinda" better, return here, and get sick again because she wasn't fully recovered.
PS Omar, I'm glad you think our blog is really good written! Us hard try!
PSS Melissa, I love the flow of your thoughts in the second paragraph: Dave is still in Belgium, so if anyone is in DC, come see Melissa!
Awesome. :P
Hmm...seems as if my thoughts kind of strayed there didn't they? I'm visiting your parents this weekend and having a nice time. Your sister helped me temporarily dye my hair red last night...I actually really like it. It's pretty subtle. Your family couldn't tell the difference last ngiht, but finally noticed in the natural light this morning. I'll get a picture and post it on the blog.
