Wedding Bells, and More Wedding Bells

Updated on 10-22-07: okay, I have pictures of Megan's engagement ring. Wow...nice job Ethan!!! So most of you by now have probably heard that Dave's sister Jennifer is getting married in February. We're really excited for her and our soon-to-be-brother-in-law Ryan. We've been having fun hearing about their wedding plans.

What you probably haven't heard is that my little sister Megan is also going to be getting married! Her boyfriend Ethan (no last names listed here to protect the innocent...) proposed this weekend, and they're talking about getting married next October in Colorado Springs. Both Megan and Ethan are going to be deploying over the next few months, and I know they'll be happy to have mom to help plan those things she can't get to.

We got to meet Ethan this summer over a quick memorial day weekend, and we were very impressed. Sad to say we were so jet lagged that no one seemed to think to take any pictures of them together (sorry). Haven't seen the ring yet, but Megan was positively bubbling with happiness over it and Ethan.

Both Ryan and Ethan have made our sisters very happy, and we're looking forward to welcoming them both into the family.

My inclination is to make some joke about how we too might have children of our own soon, but I've been discouraged from making jokes about that particular subject.

Apparently, making light of potential offspring is an offense akin to making a diorama of the birth of Jesus out of cat poop and lighting it on fire.

Disclaimer: This message is not a pregnancy nor an art exhibition announcement.

Too bad, about the art exhibition anyway, because frankly, I think you have something there.

Also, I'm sure you probably know this, but babies are equally messy (although much, much cuter).
